Levels: Graduate, Graduate Second Degree, Graduate Third Degree, Licensure Only, Graduate Regular Campus Lecture Schedule Type Traditional Instructional Method Learning Objectives: Learn all aspects of performing as a solo vocal performer. Intense work on mastering performing jazz repertoire in various styles (swing, bebop, blues, latin, fusion, and hybrid genres), jazz theory and ear training. Includes working with piano and/or guitar accompanist and with rhythm section, arranging for vocals and arranging for rhythm section with voice. Semester culminates in performances in BN Duke Auditorium in NCCU Jazz Studies Jazz Combo Concert, Guest Artist Series (Fall Semester) and/or Jazz Festival (Spring Semester).
