Learning Objectives: This course is designed to focus on the family and the social systems that have such a profound effect on the daily interactions of the family unit. This course will identify and discuss family developmental theories, and look at the many diverse family units that are a part of the global society, and the relationships and the interactions of the family members with each other; The effects that the political economical educational, and environmental influences have on the day-to-day inter-workings of the family institution.
Required Materials: Schwartz M. & Scott, B. M. (2012) Marriages and Families: Diversity and Change (7th ed.). 1. First aid and CPR for children 2. CRC-qualifying letter to work with children issued by DCDEE 3. Current TB tests and results 4. Fingerprints- needed in order to receive qualifying letter
Technical Requirements: Headsets with a USB port are required for use in virtual classroom using Elluminate Live/Blackboard Collaborate Elluminate and Textbook REQUIRED. You must have working audio and sound on the first day of classes. The use of audio is not optional but required.
