Learning Objectives: This course lays the foundation for teaching in today’s schools and the teacher education program requirements. Twelve hours of field experience are required. This course is required of all prospective teacher education candidates. The course is open for candidates to explore education as an option. Candidates will also engage in activities for preparation for PRAXIS I. There are 12 hours of required field experience for this class.
Required Materials: Kauchak, D. & Eggen, P. (2021). Introduction to teaching: Becoming a professional. (7th ed.) Pearson. This text is required. Digital or print is fine. You only need the text--not additional resources. ISBN for digital text: ISBN-13: 9780136874812
Technical Requirements: You should be able to upload and download files; use email; use Blackboard. Office 365 is available for all students.
