Learning Objectives: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:  Identify and explain the typical (common) concerns of culturally diverse parents and teachers for children in their care;  Compare and contrast various styles of parenting and teaching;  Understand and fully discuss the impact of Heath and McDermott’s Model of Developmental Determinants of the Parenting Process;  Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities to compare and contrast the component parts of Kolb’s Model of learning styles;  List and describe each of the principal theories and theorists, and relevant research on parenting from a historical perspective.
